Great news for the Jaded Graphic Novel backers! The first batch of trade paperbacks are in early! Still waiting on some shipping supplies to show up, but soon as they are in we're gonna start rocking and rolling on Phase 1 of the shipping plan! Stay tuned and pay no attention to the sleepy-eye thumbnail on the video lol

HEY JADED FANS! HOPE EVERYONE IS SAFE AND WELL IN THIS QUARANTINE ERA. 

Apologies for the long video - if you don't have time to watch, just check out the bullet points below: 

BOTTOM LINE: Shipments of Jaded Graphic Novel will begin going out May 18th, with the last phase of shipments going out June 15th.

- SUCCESSFULLY FUND JADED GRAPHIC NOVEL JULY 2018  

- HAD ISSUES WITH QUALITY OF INITIAL PRINTING COMPANY (CHEAP LOOKING)

-LAST YEAR I STATED I WAS PREPARED TO USE PERSONAL FUNDS TO COMPLETE FULFILLMENT WITH TRADE PAPERBACKS. I'VE EXHAUSTED ALL OPTIONS TO MAKE THE HARDCOVER HAPPEN.   

-Using Personal Savings and Tax Returns TO FUND PAPERBACK VERSIONS INSTEAD OF HC TO BEGIN SHIPPING IN LESS THAN 30 DAYS.  

-3 PHASE PLAN  

PHASE 1 - OVERSEAS BACKERS AND CLOSE FRIENDS WHO GOT NOTHING / SHIPMENTS BEGIN MAY 18TH 

PHASE 2 - ALL OTHER "HARDCOVER" BACKERS INCLUDING THOSE WHO GOT CONSOLATION PACKAGES// SHIPMENTS BEGIN MAY 26TH. NO ADDITIONAL SHIPPING COST REGARDLESS OF IF I'VE ALREADY SHIPPED YOU A CONSOLATION BOOK.  

PHASE 3 - RETAILER INCENTIVE PACKS - SHIPS JUNE 15TH. THIS IS BECAUSE I NEED TO ORDER MORE VARIANT GRAPHIC NOVELS SO I NEED JUST A BIT MORE TIME TO PURCHASE THOSE.

KrakenPrint is on verge of bankruptcy; contingency plans for Jaded

First I want to thank all those who backed the Jaded Hardcover last year. With your help, I was able to finish my dream project of completing a 6 issue series into a collected edition!

As we at Iron Age Comics face a huge battle ahead to get our money spent at Krakenprint returned, I wanted to update all of you who were so integral to making the finished product happen. We are putting together a plan to fund a small print run of paperback copies to provide all of those backers who have not received their Hardcovers (including overseas backers) out of pocket. I expect we'll have the money to cover the printing and shipping by November this year. We'll also be working with other independent comics creators who have been affected by the Krakenprint debacle to start a class action lawsuit, but as you can imagine, that process could take a very long time to win litigation and then recoup our funds.

Calling all friends, family and Jaded fans and backers:

Bottom line- I’m calling for help to SPAM the printer with requests for the Jaded Hardcover since they have not fulfilled the JADED order for nearly 6 months! (More details on that timeline below)

Dear Krakenprint,

Where’s Jaded: To Whom Pray the Gods?? Order ID #174703 - Jon Santana has been emailing you for months and there’s STILL no answer from you on a completion date OR a shipping date! I want my copy of JADED!! Respond to his emails immediately or the next step is we will all flood social media platforms with Krakenprint’s poor business experience and awful customer service!

Thanks guys. I KNOW this is a lot to ask for. I know it’s weird. I know it’s awkward. But I’m EXHAUSTED. I’m emotionally drained. I feel defeated and let down. I just want my book!! And I know you feel the same, and I know I’ve let YOU down!!

But I believe with help from all of you, we can finally get the book order complete.

I’ve exhausted all resources, efforts and patience with Krakenprint, the company that took the full payment for an order of 1000 copies of the Jaded Hardcover in February of this year and has gone MIA with communication yet again.

I made a mistake in trusting Josh Valliere of Krakenprint who continued to assure me through April until the beginning of May over the phone and in email that my order would be fulfilled. I asked back in April if the order still had yet to be fulfilled, would he be able to correct a missed typo error and he assured me he could. He confirmed on May 1st that I could get expedited shipping but still not confirming a shipping date. He confirmed on May 6th that expedited shipping order would include the last correction(which honestly was minuscule but I figured if they hadn’t started yet, it wouldn’t hurt to ask to fix it).

I’ve included screenshots of both those last emails and a screenshot showing the payment to Krakenprint which completed in February (I would have sent payment earlier but there were MANY production/printing problems last year and honestly most of them were the way I had been saving my files, so it took a long time for them to identify them and then for me to correct page by page).

I feel stupid for trusting this company that disappeared once on me before and even stupider for being surprised when they disappeared again.

Please help me get the Jaded order completed by calling Krakenprint, emailing them and flooding their social media with requests for Jaded. I seriously need your help, I’ve been failing on my own and I need everyone’s support if we’re ever going to see the Jaded Hardcover in our hands.

Please send me ANY questions you have and I’ll release all details that could be helpful to those of you who are willing to put in some time to help me get this SUCCESSFUL project fulfilled once and for all.

Hey everyone

I have finally reached the printer I haven't been able to reach in over a month!

Krakenprint representative Josh answered the phone and explained they have had terrible trouble with their email servers, as well as an employee who left the company and took their main phone number with them to the new company. 

Josh assures me they will be able to expedite shipping of at least the same amount of books that the backers have ordered! I sent the expedited shipping request and am just waiting to hear what the estimated ship date is. 

I had already gone to another printer i have worked with successfully in the past (Comixwellspring, an AMAZINGLY helpful printer, but unfortunately who does not print hardcovers) to print some Trade Paperback copies just in case, and am prepared to commit to that route if Krakenprint can't fulfill their order as promised.  I would hate to provide paperbacks instead of hardcovers, but the hard truth is I'd be paying 100% out of pocket to print any and all additional copies and could not afford another run of Hardcovers without the original inventory to provide the profit I'd need to purchase more.

I have to tell you all, I have been stressed, losing sleep, and overall depressed regarding the fate of my books in the last month. This news may not be as concrete as i'd like to give ( like, you know, a hard DATE!) but it is way more comforting to hear movement in the right direction than nothing at all. Which, I am aware, is how many of you backers have been feeling about this project since I first announced delays. I hope I have been able to provide you all with a little more peace about your rewards, please feel free to reach out with any more questions!
